1. The Need
Background
Mevo Choron, a yishuv of approximately 1300 people had no physical building for their female elementary aged students to learn in. They were learning in temporary structures such as caravans.
As the student body kept growing, the Regional Council realized they had no choice but to build an official building for these students. The school is meant to provide classes for the first thru sixth grade girls of Mevo Choron as well as including 2 special education classes.
The area where the school is built is meant to be developed in the future as an educational Campus including a separate boys’ school as well as a day care facility and a large gymnasium.
2. The Cost
$3,000,000
The school is already built but there are many options for special projects within the school.
(Examples of projects done in other schools: Projectors in all the classrooms, a science lab, smart boards, an art studio…)
3. The Process
This project began in December 2015 and was completed in less than 12 months.
The grand opening of the building was right after Succot, in October of 2016.
The other planned buildings on the campus still remain to be built as well as completing easy access and paving.
4. The Results
Completed – a school building with 16 classrooms.
Still available – special projects.
Plaques will be hung for donations over $1800.
